| The greatest impact on
the set of projects underway within one sub-process is, in fact,
the output from the previous sub-process. The lack of a full
architecture leads to each ensuing sub-process needing to address
the shortcomings of the previous sub-process. The Stage Gate
(development) sub-process becomes burden with poor output from
the Front-end innovation or concept development sub-process.
Likewise, the concept development sub-process can be burdened
by poor output from product line planning (mapping), the genesis
of targets for innovations.
A full, front-to-back architecture requires alignment and
streamlining of all sub processes, from product strategy through
production and product management.
